Automated sheet metal bending technology

Bending sheet material with a WEMO machine can be split into five categories: swivel bending, roll-bending and press braking, CNC bending, variable radius bending and corner forming.

CNC Bending technology

One of the standout features of our CNC bending machine is the infinitely variable CNC-controlled X-Y movement of the bending beams. This remarkable capability empowers the program to precisely dictate the desired bending radius.

• Suitable for material thicknesses up to 1.5 mm.
• Achieves a minimal exterior radius of twice the material thickness.
• Eliminates additional costs associated with bending gap adjustment.
• High bending speed (0.5 sec. for both up- and downward movements).
• Electrically driven.
• Utilizes a modular concept, allowing for the production of large lengths, such as 6 meters.

Swivel bending technology

With swivel bending, the product is clamped between a stationary and a moving clamping beam. Subsequently, the bending beam bends the product around one of the clamping beams. These beams are typically incorporated into one or more swivel-bending modules, collectively comprising the swivel bending machine. The inherent rigidity of this design eliminates the necessity for a curved bending beam.

Roll-bending and press braking

WEMO has innovatively designed a machine that combines roll bending and press braking for the production of roller shutter boxes. These casings are made of pre-painted aluminum with a thickness ranging from 0.5 to 1.0 mm. The complete production line consists of a reel, a straightening machine, a profiling line, a sawing machine and a combined roll-bending and press braking machine. The integration of these processes within a single machine, eliminates the need for manual actions and the storage of intermediate stock.

Corner Forming Bending Technology

Corner Forming technology

Cold forming of seamless corners in pre-formed sections of thin sheet material is particularly suitable when the closed corner does not necessitate any additional finishing. This bending technique offers an attractive alternative to deep forming and welding, making it versatile for use with pre-painted materials and stainless steel (SS). The machine can be employed as a standalone production unit or seamlessly integrated into an authorized production line. What's more, corner forming proves to be an excellent solution for smaller batches, with the added benefit of not requiring product-specific tools for adjusting length and width settings.

Corner forming finds wide application in the production of office furniture, doors for electrical enclosures, and household appliances. Additionally, its aesthetic and hygienic qualities make it especially advantageous in the food sector and any environment where stringent hygiene standards are paramount.
