WEMO strengthens Sales strategy for North American market

WEMO has designed, built, sold and serviced fast and flexible production lines for processing sheet metal in the United States for over 20 years based out of their office and production facility in the Netherlands. The installed base combined with their recent successes in selling WEMO solutions into the region and the fact that WEMO sees a huge market potential for their product portfolio in this enormous growth market has led to a change in their sales strategy to accelerate their current growth.

There is a multitude of reasons for WEMO to renew, or rather refresh, its focus on the US market. First of all WEMO can fulfill the current need in the market by offering solutions for processing sheet metal, dealing with higher output and more flexibility within a product family. Besides, there is a growing demand for steel products. To locate the need of the opportunities in an early stage and to accelerate their current growth WEMO will aim for an independent and proactive market approach.

‘The high quality and innovative solutions for the sheet metal industry that we offer embody excellent productivity, extremely high accuracy and repeatability within product families. A seamless fit for companies with a need for a good price per product, flexibility and high productivity in a demanding market’, says Jeff Hagelen, CEO of WEMO.

In order to achieve the before mentioned goals WEMO has assigned a team of experienced employees from their ranks to set up the new base overseas. Leading them is the Vice President of Business Development, Johan Poorthuis. The assigned team will consist of Sales Engineers, Service Engineers and Marketing Staff as well as an Office Support structure.

‘We are missing a physical basis in the USA. We will put together a WEMO Sales team as well as a dedicated service organization located in North America that is very actively involved with customer demands, campaigns, visits and follow up on a daily basis, to make sure we fathom the market, locate opportunities and make the intended growth possible’, states Johan Poorthuis, VP of Business Development who focuses specifically on the development of the US and Canadian markets.

Our ultimate goal is to establish a fully-fledged and independent WEMO North American operation for Sales and Service with passionate WEMO colleagues who can make an impact together with our customers! In order to achieve that goal we have discontinued the cooperation with our agent Automated Fabrication Systems (AFS), who has contributed greatly to the recognition of the WEMO brand in the North American market and for which I am sincerely thankful’, concluded Jeff Hagelen, CEO of WEMO.
