What does WEMO mean to you?

WEMO is a workplace I enjoy going to every day.

Why did you choose WEMO 40 years ago?

After working in hydraulics at Itho, also known as Danfoss Ned, I moved to Gelderland for love. At that time, WEMO had a vacancy for a hydraulic technician. After a trial period under Mr. Van Beurden in the assembly department, I was hired under the supervision of Jan Lamoen. I learned a lot from Jan! I enjoyed continuously working on the development of the machine in the hydraulic field, making the setup more efficient.

What have been the highlights of your career at WEMO?

• The move from Javastraat to the new building on Larenweg.
• Working on special machines and continuously improving the setup with colleagues.
• Collaborating with several hydraulic technicians; at our peak, we had a team of four.
• Now, as the sole hydraulic technician, building and continuously developing the machines hydraulically in collaboration with colleagues.

Why is WEMO still a great employer after so many years?

• I still go to WEMO with pleasure every day, where I have been able to contribute to the construction of the machines in the hydraulic field.
• The variety of tasks in assembling and installing machines, both at WEMO and at the customer’s site.
• The opportunities provided to stay healthy (challenges like ice baths, breathing exercises, sports, etc.).
• The good atmosphere among colleagues.
• The challenges in the Safety team, the emergency response team, and now also in the Works Council.

What makes the work environment at WEMO unique according to you?

Working in a clean environment with special machines, the technology, and the diversity of tasks, a socially responsible employer, a healthy working environment, and a pleasant work atmosphere.

How have relationships between colleagues developed over the years, and what role does teamwork play within our company?

The relationships are good, and we work together as a team, which is very important.

How do you think WEMO Nederland will continue to stand out in the market in the future?

By continuing to innovate and build special machines.
